We present a high-level Picture Interpretation system based on an Object-Oriented concurrent Logic Programming approach. The system is written in Parlog++ and is based on the idea of a network of concurrent objects, each dealing with a class of thing in the picture, and exchanging messages in both a top-down and bottom-up direction. The linkages in the network are given by the a priori World Model, and the pattern of instances of each object represents the a postiori Scene Model. The system is driven by symbolic procedures in each object, but spatial predicates are determined by calls to numeric procedures in a spatial database.
